ProView is an online provider data-collection solution created as part of CAQH, or the Council for Affordable Quality Healthcare, Inc. CAQH ProView streamlines the collection of provider data through a standard electronic form. This common form meets the needs of almost every health plan, hospital and other health care organization.

Using CAQH ProView, providers such as physicians and other health care professionals in the U.S. can enter their data with no charge into a secure central database. Health plans or other entities that perform provider enrollment services like 1st Assistant gain access to the information only with the proper authorization. Using CAQH ProView has significantly reduced administrative burdens and eliminated redundant paperwork.

Some of the many time-saving features of CAQH ProView include:

  • The ability to complete and attest to multiple state credentialing applications in one intelligent workflow design.
  • Eliminating the need for manual submission by uploading supporting documents directly into CAQH ProView, which also improves the timeliness of completed applications.
  • The protection against delays in information processing due to real-time validation and more focused prompts.
  • The ability to self-register with the system before a health plan initiates the application process.

In the future, this trusted source for provider data can be used for claims processing, quality assurance, emergency response and member services.

CAQH ProView is primarily used by commercial insurers. As of now, Medicare does not use the database and only a few states use it for Medicaid enrollment. Providers must work directly with these organizations.

Physicians and other health care professionals must register with CAQH ProView in order to add their data. Once the online application is completed and the data reviewed, the providers must authorize any access to their information. After the data is verified, supporting documents must be uploaded.

The data in CAQH ProView must be re-attested every 4 months. Health care providers will be reminded of this requirement to review and authorize their data. Changes can be made anytime by accessing the information online.
